India ranks  2nd position in producing agricultural products. Different types of agriculture contribute to environmental versatility, and profitability, and economic growth.

Now, let's understand the different types of agriculture in India.

1)Subsistence Agriculture - This is also known as family farming. This type of farming is done to fulfil the needs of farmers and their families. This type of farming is mainly done in rural areas.

2)Shifting Agriculture - This type of farming has been adopted since ancient times. It is also known as jhum, which is done in tribal areas. In this type of farming, farmers grow crops, such as peppers and maize, on the forest ground by burning or removal.

3)Intensive Farming and Extensive Farming - In intensive farming, farmers can grow different types of crops every year, but each plot of land requires a significant commitment to labor and money.

In contrast with extensive farming, farmers can grow a single crop each year, which demands less labor and capital per hectare.

4)Plantation Agriculture - This type of farming uses modern techniques. In this type of farming, large areas of land are used to grow high-value crops.

5)Crop Rotation - In this type of farming, farmers can grow seasonal crops in different seasons.
