The popularity of the Air Jordan 1 has naturally lead Jordan Brand to implement an array of alternate models to quench the market’s thirst. In addition to the mainstay AJ1 High, Mid, and Low, Jordan Brand has recently introduced new variations like the Twist and Zoom CMFT, while also paying tribute to its old school originals in the High ’85 and the 2021 return of the OG Air Jordan 1 Low. Another oft-forgotten original model is the AJKO, a lightweight, canvas, and leather option which debuted way back in 1986.
This Air Jordan 1 KO Chicago features a White canvas base with Red overlays, Black leather Swooshes and ankle collar along with the signature “AJKO” branding on the Wings logo. A White midsole atop a Red rubber outsole completes the design.Notably, the heel overlays are removed, leaving a blank white rear-end that’s immediately identifiable to the silhouette. Outsoles, too, are adjusted to a “zoomed-in” finish, and AJKO branding on the ankle Wings motif completes the design.
These Air Jordan 1 Mid Light Smoke Grey are a nice, clean colorway in its own right. Smooth leathers all over, a nice mix of shades and perfectly-positioned contrast strikes; the pair is subtle-yet-statement — And it comes without the two-stack price tag. Like the Dior pair, it arrives in Chicago blocking, with white leather underlays, light grey overlay and bold black Swooshes. This mid comes equipped with grey nylon tongues, black liners, laces, and tongue tags, and a white midsole/grey rubber outsole to complete the design.
